Sept. 18- Kickoff and topic: Was Jesus of Nazareth God? Oct. 2- Did Jesus know that he was God? Oct. 16- If Jesus was God why did he have to die? Optional Fall Service project: Leaf raking for seniors Youth Gathering Expedition at Lutherdale, October 31-November 2 Nov. 6- Do I have to believe Jesus performed miracles in order to be a Christian? Nov. 20- Why did Jesus get baptized? Optional service project: Collection of non-perishable food items for Unity Food Pantry Dec. 4- Is believing in Jesus really the only way to get to heaven? Dec. 18- If there is one God, why are there so many different religions? Optional Service project: Christmas Caroling at Harbor Village Jan. 8- Why do Christians believe Christianity is the best? Why are there so many different Christian churches? Jan. 22-How do I stop doing the things I know I shouldn’t do? Optional Service Project: Visit as faith community worship that is different from yours. Feb. 5- What if my friends aren’t Christian? Feb 19- Is it ok to be angry at God? Did God create the devil? March 5- Can you accept the theory of evolution and still be a Christian? March 19- Why does God let bad things happen? Confirmation Retreat at Lutherdale, March 6-8 April 9- Can I do something bad enough to make God stop loving me? April 23- Does Revelation really describe how the world will end? May 7: What does God think about war? May 21- End of year party! Classes will meet the first and third Thursday of each month. A few adjustments were made to 2nd and 4th Thursdays in January and April considering New Years and Easter. Please bring your Bibles, your Small Catechism and your Anti-Work Book. Please contact us if you can’t make a class. Service/learning opportunities are also an important part of confirmation. We encourage volunteering locally. Youth can also serve by reading worship lessons/usher/acolyte. We will also have some service/learning projects, and we welcome your ideas for projects.
